MLW Cup Round 1 details
Fixture Changes
As you know we are in the middle of difficult circumstances, we have COVID cancellations, delays to the MLW cup competition, a mid winter Premier League break and players away in the African Nations League.
As a result the committee have consulted and come up with the following amendments:
1) Weekend 28th Jan (week 23) there are no Premier League matches (winter break). This is the final week of the month. We didn't want to cancel the weekend so we have decided to include the Premier League matches from midweek on the 8th to 10th Feb. This means the following weekend (week 24) 4th Feb will complete before week 23 does. A further benefit from using these Premier League fixtures is that the African Nations Cup will be complete by then and all players will have returned to their clubs.
2) Week 23 will also be round 1 of the MLW cup (can't use week 24 as this an FA Cup weekend).
3) Week 23 and 24 report will produced on the completion of both weeks. I will summarise the situation for week 23 on Mon 7th Feb.
4) The season will finish one week early as League 1 finish at the end of April
